Exhibition opening hours
La Rada – Spazio per l’arte contemporanea presents Deep Roots, the fourth instalment of the annual exhibition programme LÌ DOVE NON SIAMO, hosted at the Fondazione Monte Verità in Ascona.
The exhibition brings together five international and intergenerational artists: Lisa Lurati, Manuela Morales Délano, Carlos Casas, Giorgio Zeno Graf and Kaspar Ludwig, who have been invited to engage with the history, aesthetics and spiritual tension that have made Monte Verità a symbolic place of inquiry, vision and transformation.
Through audiovisual installations, sculptures, drawings and site-specific works, Deep Roots explores the relationship between memory, myth and landscape, interweaving contemporary artistic practices with the hill’s historical and cultural layers. The exhibition takes its starting point from the figures and ideas that have shaped Monte Verità – from Ida Hofmann to Hermann Hesse – to examine how the utopias of the past continue to resonate in the present.
Winding its way through the spaces of Monte Verità, Deep Roots unfolds as a journey through history and imagination, matter and spirituality, rootedness and transformation, conveying the image of a territory that is still very much alive, where memories of the past continue to engage with the pressing concerns of the present.
The exhibition will run until 22 August 2026.
