La Rada – Spazio per l’arte contemporanea is delighted to invite you to the second event of 2026 in the exhibition programme LÌ DOVE NON SIAMO at Parco Balli in Locarno. The exhibition presents works by the Graubünden-based artist Andrea Todisco, curated by Daniele Agostini.

The exhibition ANDREA TODISCO. INTERSEZIONI establishes a dialogue between a body of recent and previously unseen installations, conceived using materials from the construction industry, and the public space of Parco Balli, creating a site-specific relationship that explores both the historical stratification of the site and its current status as a threshold.

This urban oasis, shaped in the late 19th century by the vision of Emilio Balli — archaeologist, naturalist and traveller — bears within its very form the tension between scientific collection and exotic imagery that characterised the naturalist culture of the century. The project’s central reflection is organised around this core: the idea of the boundary, explored not as a device of separation but as a permeable membrane, an osmotic threshold that highlights the overlaps between geographies, taxonomies and ecosystems — issues rooted in the very vocation of the place and in the biography of its founder, an emblematic figure of a knowledge that proceeded through crossings.

The exhibition takes the form of a critical cartography of Parco Balli, in which building materials, removed from their everyday use, become tools for reflecting on the invisible architectures of our living: the boundaries we draw, the categories we inherit, the futures we try to imagine. And in this space suspended between greenhouse and garden, between enclosure and openness, between formwork and a volume yet to come, the park once again speaks its ancient language — that of a place built to welcome distant worlds, and to remind us that every threshold, after all, is already a crossing.

The opening event is part of the programme for Locarno’s Notte Bianca
