Lษ™ artistษ™ invitatษ™ sono Alien [Londra], Lou Masduraud [Ginevra], Evo Jovicic [Losanna], Riikka Tauriainen [Zurigo], Fattucchiere [Marta Margnetti e Giada Olivotto] [Lugano], Dafne Boggeri [Milano], GOODWITCH & LA Warman [NY], Industria Indipendente [Roma], Lucile Olympe Haute [Parigi], Nygel Panasco [Strasburgo], TOMBOYS DONโ€™T CRY/Wet Mess [Milano/Londra] e Wretched Flowers [NY].

‘๐’๐–๐ˆ๐“๐‚๐‡ ๐“๐‡๐„ ๐–๐ˆ๐“๐‚๐‡’ is a group and multidisciplinary exhibition curated by TOMBOYS DON’T CRY that involves Swiss and international artists and addresses the theme of alterity, mutation, transformation and magic realism through a transfeminist point of view.

TOMBOYS DON’T CRY invites a plurality of female artists to explore different scenarios in a pluralist, proactive and sensitive perspective of resistance, the aim of which is to bring artists together in a dialogue that triggers visions, considerations and ideas about the future.

The works in the exhibition propose unconventional ways of remembering and connecting, offering space to describe oneself, through emotions and intuitions, rituals, collective events and reclaiming the figure of the witch and the ‘other’ in opposition to the stereotypical representation provided throughout history. We owe to these hunted, accused, tortured and burnt feminists the enormous advances in the socio-political and gender spheres. They talk to us about health, the body, medicine, self-discovery and rejection of the established order, they reconcile us with nature, they transgress norms, they remind us that it is not always easy to claim access to knowledge and develop non-academic skills.

The invited artists are Alien [London], Lou Masduraud [Geneva], Evo Jovicic [Lausanne], Riikka Tauriainen [Zurich], Fattucchiere [Marta Margnetti and Giada Olivotto] [Lugano], Dafne Boggeri [Milan], GOODWITCH and LA Warman [NY], Industria Indipendente [Rome], Lucile Olympe Haute [Paris], Nygel Panasco [Strasbourg], TOMBOYS DON’T CRY/Wet Mess [Milan/London] and Wretched Flowers [NY].

SWITCH THE WITCH gives precedence to expressions of sisterhood, difference, the supernatural, creativity, and ceremony as a path to healing and reminds us how trauma inherited from history continues to affect us today.
